The BLUE belongs to the middle area of LTF B gliders. It’s excellent performance mean that most B and C pieces of equipment can only glimpse it from above.

A glider’s performance data is not just based on effective glide angles. It also looks at relevant speeds and the ability to plough through irregular air masses, also known as penetration. In all sizes the BLUE is about 1-2 km/h quicker in trim speed than the majority of its competition. This means it has a decisive advantage when gliding. You cannot appreciate this from the figures, but in fact it is very noticeable during every day flying. The BLUE enjoys the balanced combination of canopy tension, profile selection, planform and canopy curvatures. These are the main criteria for maintaining the best possible penetration with moderate reactions after problems (collapses). The result is that the BLUE demonstrates good trim speeds and exceptional handling and performance data even with low weights.
